Photography to Capture the World - Vol. 3: Beautiful Barcelona

During my creative career, I have been lucky enough to work with amazing food photography, taken over hundreds of photographs of product packaging to upload to e-commerce sites and even been challenged with the fast-paced role of taking on event photography. However, travel photography is still a new adventure and challenge for me. How do you create unique photographs that stand out from the crowd in a world where everyone with an iPhone believes they are a photographer? How do you capture enough photos to represent a city, a culture, a community, and a part of the world that is ever-changing? To try and answer these questions while increasing my experience in travel photography, I headed to Barcelona for a weekend with a list of goal photos and my nifty Canon EOS R6 with RF 24-105mm f4-7.1 IS STM Lens. Below are some of the best photographs I captured during that trip.
Conclusion of My Travel Photography Exploration
Barcelona is a bohemian paradise. The city has dozens of tourist attractions, incredible restaurants, and a vibe unlike any other part of the world. After leaving Barcelona, one thing that stood out to me was the amazing food from delicious paella to indulgent pastries, which I never photographed. Next time I travel I will aim to capture some photographs of pastry shops, cafes, or bars. This is an area I often overlook. I get swept up in capturing photos of the city's beautiful architecture and statues rather than the small details of its way of life. But with each experiment in travel photography, I am starting to build confidence it capturing pictures, learning what subjects I enjoy shooting the most, and how to improve my camera settings.
